You can run this command from any computer that has administrator access:
- Install the Hyper-V roll on each machine: Install-WindowsFeature –Name Hyper-V -ComputerName “<computer_name>” -IncludeManagementTools -Restart (this usually takes a couple of reboots, and will reboot the server automatically)
- Install Clustering roll on each machine: Install-WindowsFeature –Name Failover-Clustering -ComputerName “<computer_name>” -IncludeManagementTools -Restart
- Install the management tools: Install-windowsfeature -Name “RSAT-Hyper-V-Tools”,”RSAT-Clustering” -ComputerName “<computer_name>”
Add the following registry key (you only need to do this if your shared storage is based off a SCSI based internal disk, like on a Dell vrtx)
Invoke-Command -ComputerName <computername> -ScriptBlock {New-ItemProperty “HKLM:\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ClusDisk\Parameters” -Name “AllowBusTypeRAID” -Value 1 -PropertyType “DWord” }
Reboot each systems: restart-computer <computername> -force
Create the cluster: new-cluster <clustername> -Node <node1>,<node2>…
